The future is not merely conceived as a distant vision, but also as a concrete reality embedded in the present – inscribed in data and platforms, in decision-making systems, in landscapes, infrastructures, in human action, and in social contexts.
The second edition of Hidden Futures: Predictions and Promises, examines the consequences of temporal logics beyond the realm of work. Time is not treated abstractly here: it structures work and everyday life, shapes life plans, and molds social and ecological contexts – often invisibly and seemingly as a matter of course.
The program will be announced shortly.
“Hidden Futures” is a new series at PACT, which is being developed in cooperation with the Käte Hamburger Kolleg: Cultures of Research (c:o/re) | RWTH Aachen University. The series looks at the material conditions of a variety of models of the future developed in the present.
