Ana de la Varga is the managing director of the Käte Hamburger Kolleg Cultures of Research (c:o/re) at the RWTH Aachen University since 2021. She studied Physics (UAM, Madrid and JGU University, Mainz) and obtained a PhD in Astrophysics (University of Hamburg), funded by DADD/La Caixa and TMR Marie Curie Fellowships. Ana has a broad experience of research management in higher education in several European countries, coordination of interdisciplinary teams, network building, and public outreach of science. She worked as the managing director of the Human Technology Center at the RWTH from 2015 to 2021, and is interested in transdisciplinary processes, in fostering the concept of social responsibility in research and innovation and in the openness of science. She also coordinates the Living Labs Incubator at the RWTH Aachen, collaborates with third-sector organizations and conducts challenge-based seminars and co-creation workshops.
